
“2nd School of Young Ecologist” was held at Minsk (Belarus) on 19 – 25 th of September by the financial support of Interstate Humanitarian Cooperation Fund of CIS. Representatives from eight of commonwealth countries: Republic of Azerbaijan, Republic of Belarus, Republic of Moldova, Republic of Kazakhstan, Republic of Kyrgyzstan, Republic of Tajikistan and the Russian Federation participated in this school. Three members of the CES: Aydan Novruzova, Azar Huseynli, Kursum Mammadova, employee of Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources: Arzu Samadova, representative of “Young Trainers School”: Sevinc Sarukhanova were the members of Azerbaijani Republic delegation.

I had two reasons to visit the Summer Engineering Camp organized by the Caspian Engineers Society (CES). Firstly, I wanted to cover this interesting event, secondly, this was a good chance for me to revisit my alma mater Qafqaz University. Qafqaz is the only university in Baku that was able to obtain a western-style campus and quality living and studying conditions for the students. Thus, it is not an accident that western educated and tech-savvy employees of various trans-national corporations, who are members of CES, chose this locale for the event.

3rd Summer Engineering Camp – Exam Results

On Sunday, 5th of June Caspian Engineers Society held election exam for 3rd Summer Engineering Camp. We thank everybody who participated in this program and congratulate the students who successfully passed. We call the students who didn’t pass to not despond as Engineering Camps will be held in future years. Also you can participate in our other programs like Summer Internship Program. The students who find their names in below table are invited to be interviewed by CES committee members on 12th of June at Qafqaz University. The CES Announces 3rd Summer Engineering Camp

The Caspian Engineers Society holds its third engineering camp project. Applications has already started. You can fill the application form here (applications are closed). Please check twice before submitting the form. Deadline for applications is 30th of May.
Engineering Camp – goals achievable
The First Summer Engineering Camp (SEC) for university students was held on 22-88 June in Qafqaz University. It was joint project of the CES, Qafqaz University and SOCAR. After selections (described in previous article) 24 students from Azerbaijan State Oil-Gas Academy, Qafqaz University, Khazar University, Middle East Technical University and Azerbaijan Technical University had been chosen for participation in SEC.
Summer and Winter Schools
This program is considered for high school students. The aim is to increase the interest of students to technical science and engineering, assist them to define their future educational need, how the studies in university relates with actual work environment.
Winter Camp Closing Ceremony

CES held Annual Review and Winter Camp Closing Ceremony in Hyatt Regency 13th February 2010. CES started ceremony with presentation about the aim and strategy of the organization, projects that is ongoing and also announce upcoming CES projects. Technical seminars, excursions, summer & winter engineering schools, MAYAK, technical support activities, in depended educational assessments and discussion club projects were covered during brief presentation.
